Instructor Profiles

SFG instructors have a combined experience level of over eighty years in the outdoors and the classroom as teachers, guides and civic volunteers. Instructors are selected for their natural teaching abilities and their personal experience as outfitters, educators and community leaders. SFG wants to create a lifetime relation between students and instructors. SFG believes that our graduate students are the future models for outdoor leaders as hunting professionals.

Monty is the owner and founder of SFG. Monte has 22 years experience in the private business sector and as a Christian Missionary and a Education Superintendent for several private schools. Monte has over 30 years experience as a saltwater and fresh water fishing guide as well as a big game guide hunting elk, mountain sheep, deer, wild boar, turkey, waterfowl and bear. Monte holds a USCG certified Master Captains license combined with 30 years of boating experience. Captain Monty has operated a professional guiding company for 12 years for both fishing and big game.

Jerry is our resident expert horsemanship and packing instructor. Jerry has over 20 years experience working and training horses and mules of all sizes and shapes. He has extensive background as a hunting guide and trail wrangler. Jerry has hunted elk, deer, big horn sheep, antelope and wild hogs from coast to coast. He has guiding experience with both rifle and archery methods of take.  Jerry has world wide experience hunting moose, caribou, black bear and whitetail deer.

School for Guides uses Clinton Anderson Horsemanship Clinics videos and teaching materials personally taught by Clinton. SFG uses our horses to demonstrate each method exercise. Students then spread out around the the school arena and put the lesson into practice. Mr.. Anderson's methods have be proven world wide .
